 25 JANUARY 2010
Dear Parents

I am sorry to tell you that Mrs Schwodler will be leaving in April and although we will be sad to see her leave I am sure you will join me in congratulating her on her appointment as Head Teacher of St Mary’s Infant School in Marlborough. Mrs Ellery will move to teach Class 2 and the children in Mrs Ellery’s class will join either Miss Kerrigan’s or Mrs Vallis’ class.

BOOK WEEK information is on the back of this Newsletter. As usual on Friday 29 January we will complete Book Week by dressing up as a person from a book. This year we would like to ask you for a voluntary contribution of 50p. The money will go to CAFOD to aid them in their work in Haiti.

We had the Science Explorer Dome here on Tuesday 19 January. The children had a great time learning about light.

Year 1 children will be learning about town planning and building at the Lego workshop that will be in school on 2 February.

We were delighted to see so many parents at Class 1’s Assembly and look forward to welcoming the families of the children in Class 2 on Friday 29 January, Class 3 on Friday 5 February and Class 4 on
Friday 12 February.

The Parents and Friends Association would like to thank the parents of the children in Class 1 for the cakes/buns on Friday 22 January. All the children enjoyed the treat. The next cake/bun sale for the children will be on 5 February when we will invite Class 2 to supply the cakes. Please remember to give your son/daughter 20p to buy one at playtime.
