Dear Parents
The staff and I wish you a happy, restful summer holiday.
I would very much like to thank you all for your continued support this year, especially those who helped in class, on school trips and to our PFA committee and volunteers who helped organise our various fund raising events.
Thank you also to all who responded to the recent Ofsted questionnaire. As the school closes this week for the summer holidays the Ofsted report will not be published until September.
END OF TERM
The school will close for the children at 1pm on Friday 22 July.
ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-2012
The children who are currently in Reception and Year 1 will return to school on Friday 2 September, as will the children who will be joining the Jun-ior School in Year 3. Children who are joining the Infant School in Reception have an induction period and their parents have been advised of each child’s start date.
FUN EVENING
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the evening of Friday 9 July such a success, par-ticularly the Parents and Friends Association Committees of both schools and to everyone who came on the evening. It was lovely to see so many children and their families despite the dreadful weather conditions. The final total is not yet available but the profit will be in the region of £1500 and this will be divided equally between the Parents and Friends Associations of both schools.
ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL IN THE MORNING
Children can be dropped off after 8.30am when Staff will be at the Ground-well Road end of the playground to supervise the children until the doors open at 8.45am. Children who are with staff are not allowed to go out of the coned area at the Groundwell Road end of the playground as the staff must know which children they are responsible for. Therefore, parents who wish to wait with their children should use the Durham Street entrance and keep their children in this part of the playground.
