| NEWSLETTER 17 10 JUNE 2010
Dear Parents
CONTACT WITH PARENTS VIA MOBILE PHONE TEXT MESSAGING – We will shortly be trialling a text messaging service to communicate school news, reminders and other information. For parents with children in the Junior School or St Joseph’s the system will be familiar. This is a discreet, convenient, secure and reliable method of communication that will save the school time and money. Messages will automatically be sent to one mobile phone number per child and a test message will be sent out by 14 June. The service is free to you as the recipient of the text message. Parents will not be able to reply to text messages sent to their phones from the school.
If you would like to check the mobile number registered for your child, or if you have not received a message by 15 June and would like to be included in the database, please speak to Mrs Boyles or Mrs Lepore in the office.
JOINT FUN EVENING – The children brought home a note yesterday about the Non-uniform Day on Friday 11 June, asking for donations of bottles for the Annual Joint Fun Evening with the Junior School. The bottle stall is one of the stalls traditionally run by the Infant School and the money raised by the Fun Evening is divided equally between the two schools.
On Friday 11 June the children do not have to wear school uniform. They can wear jeans, t-shirts etc and we would ask you to please send in donations of bottles of alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks for the stall instead of money. An adult should bring the bottle to the office or class, or please hand it to a member of staff, as it could be dangerous if a child carried the bottle and dropped it. Thank you.
SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS – If you wish to purchase the children’s class group photograph, orders must be in by Wednesday 16 June.
SCHOOL TRIPS – Year 2 – Friday 18 June and Reception – Tuesday 22 June
If you have not yet responded, please could you return the reply slip as soon as possible. This is an important educational visit and all the children should attend.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
1) The staff come into the playground at 8.30am in the mornings. Children must not be left in the playground before there is adult supervision – please stay with your child until the adults are there.
2) Please make sure that the school gates are latched at the top after entering or leaving the playground. Thank you.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Denise Slaght
