The teachers look forward to meeting you on the parents’ evenings – either Monday 11 October or Thursday 13 October. If you have not received an appointment time, please speak to the class teacher.
EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS / TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE

Sometimes it is necessary to contact parents during the day if their child is unwell or there is uncertainty about the arrangements for them going home.

Information text messages are sent to the main mobile contact number.
We therefore need to ensure we have up-to-date contact information and the children will be bringing home a form for you to complete. We would be grateful if this could be completed and returned to the school by Friday 15 October.
DETAILS OF REGISTERED CHILDMINDER – There are details in the school office of a local registered childminder who currently has vacancies for children up to age 7 years.
Swindon Life Education Caravan – The children will be walking to the Junior School in their class groups on 13 and 14 October to learn about healthy lifestyles.
Percussion Roadshow – There will be a percussion roadshow demonstration for all the children to be held in school during the morning of 18 October.
October Holiday – The last day of this term will be Friday 22 October. The school will be closed from 25 October to 29 October inclusive for the autumn holiday and also closed for the children on Monday 1 November as the staff will be updating their first aid training. Children should therefore return to school on Tuesday 2 November.
School Christmas Celebration – The Christmas Celebration involving all the children will be held in Holy Rood Church on the afternoons of 7 December and 9 December. Further details will follow.
PARENTS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION (PFA)
Cake Sale – There will be a cake sale on Friday 15 October. The parents of children in Class 1 will be asked to send in cakes/buns to be sold at break time. All the children in the school will have the opportunity of buying a cake for 20p.
PFA Annual General Meeting – The AGM will be held on Thursday 21 October at 7.15pm. Further details will follow.
HOLY ROOD PLAYGROUP, UPHAM ROAD, SWINDON - is recruiting a temporary, part time Playgroup Assistant from January to July 2011, working 16 ¾ hours per week. Interested applicants should hold an NVQ 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development or equivalent or be enrolled on a course studying for this qualification. We would welcome applicants who meet the qualification requirements but particularly those who also have an understanding of the Polish language.
