NEWSLETTER 07 9 DECEMBER 2009
Dear Parents
PARENTS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
The Sponsored Silence was held on 3 December and the children were excellent. Thank you to all those parents who have returned the sponsor forms and money. We would be grateful if the remaining forms and money could be returned to school by 16 December. Thank you.
Fundraising website – The children have brought home a leaflet with full details of this new venture and if you have any other queries please ask at the office. If you like to buy online please look at the website buy.at/holyroodinfantschoolpfa. With no extra charge the PFA will receive up to 12% commission on any orders placed thereby increasing the PFA funds that contribute towards activities for your children.
CHRISTMAS SERVICE MONDAY AND TUESDAY 14 AND 15 DECEMBER:
Thank you for the beautiful costumes. If you have not sent your child’s costume in yet, please could you send it in tomorrow – Thursday 10 December.
The Service will take place in Holy Rood Church at 1.30pm on Monday 14 December and Tuesday 15 December and you are invited to attend on one day as follows (all children will take part on both days):
Monday 14 December - Classes 1 and 3 and Reception Groups Badgers and Kingfishers;
Tuesday 15 December - Classes 2 and 4 and Reception Group Owls.
Unfortunately individual photos/videos cannot be made by parents/friends in the church. The Parents and Friends Association are arranging for a professional company to record the Service and a separate letter has been sent home about purchasing a DVD/Video.
A collection will be taken each day after the Service for Mission Together, the charity whose motto is ‘Children Helping Children’. The children will return to school after the Service and you will then be able to collect them from their classroom.
WYVERN THEATRE PANTOMIME TRIP – WEDNESDAY 16 DECEMBER - Thank you for the contributions for the pantomime trip to the Wyvern Theatre on Wednesday 16 December. The children should arrive at school at the normal time in their school uniform and they, together with all the staff, will walk to the Wyvern for the performance. We will return to school in time for lunch.
CHILDREN’S PARTY - THURSDAY 17 DECEMBER – Children can wear party clothes on this day however they will have their lunch at school as normal, either a packed lunch from home or a meal ordered from Cygnet Catering. The party will be in the afternoon.
CYGNET CATERING – Meal orders for the week commencing 4 January must be placed by 9.30am on Wednesday 16 December.
END OF TERM – The Governors have given authorisation for the school to close on Friday 18 December at 1.10pm. The Junior School will also be closing that afternoon. Arrangements have been made for the children entitled to travel home on the school buses to be collected at 1.10pm from the Infants and 1.15pm from the Juniors. The buses will therefore arrive in West Swindon from 1.25pm. Please make sure you are at the bus stop in good time to meet your child. If you wish to collect them directly from school please let Mrs Boyles or Mrs Lepore know. Children whose parents are unable to make arrangements for them to be collected at 1.10pm will be supervised in school until 3.05pm. The buses, however, will not be making a second trip to West Swindon at this time.
BEGINNING OF TERM JANUARY 2010 – School will reopen on 4 January 2010.
